We ended up at The Kratochwill Brew Pub mentioned by Cambs Iron by chance. Was very nice plus good food with decent portions.

If you want a great feed, go to Sarajevo 84. Get the mixed grill-type platter. Incredible food.

Weather's not good here to say the least.Time for a trip to the brew pub for meal of mixed animals and a litre of black beer.

Does beers from the Human Fish Brewery. The usual lager styles are also available. I seem to remember that it did some mainstream beers as well. The location is good as it is by the river just a couple of hundred yards from the main bit with the three bridges. There is outside and inside seating. They had a happy hour arrangement last time I was there. A good place to chill with a good view.
The Kratochwill Brew Pub

Down one of the side roads near the station, about 100 yards. Cross the road from the station exit and go down the road to the right of the grassy bit.It is just a few yards down that road.
Does the usual brew pub type beers; a light and a dark. Litre steins are available. I can’t vouch for what other beers it does. Good for food and has a proper brick pizza oven in the pub. I got defeated by one of the mixed meat options last time I was in there. There is an outside seating area. It is very useful for the train station and therefore for taxis to the ground. I have to say that the meals and the beer make this a must visit place for me.

In the back streets just back from the three bridges bit. Not much to be said for it other than a very good selection of beers. There is an outside bit but it is basically the street. Worth a visit if you are beer-minded.
There are obviously plenty of other places but some can be a bit "youthy" and the beer a bit bland.
The common lager type beers are Lasko and Union. We always considered Union to be the poorer relation of the two.
I hope this is of use to anyone with a beer fetish. By the way, I haven't got a beard!!!

I stayed in a hotel almost opposite the railway station on the other side of the canal. The worst part about it was having to walk past bars and pizzerias to get to the railway station via the bridge.
Tragic.

Ornchurch is right about the Itslian Air Traffic Controllers. Was due to leave for the airport at 8am Saturday morning to fly to Venice. Got an email Friday night at 8pm advising the flight had be cancelled due to a strike. Ended up getting a flight to Verona this morning and a train across. Not sure of what the ongoing scheduled strikes are

The efforts of you and the others are much appreciated oneiron.
There is no denying that these qualifiers are a right royal pain in the butt. There are so many reasons why people can't make it: summer hols, short notice, can't get leave, high cost of flights, flights sold out etc etc. If we reach the heady heights of the group stage then things will improve.
I am flying out to Ljub on Wednesday so hopefully will bump into a few of the early arrivals in town. I know some good beer places there so may post some info before I go.

Hope all that wanted to go got sorted out, it always a risk this time of year, and not knowing till the last minute who we was playing made it a nightmere for the lads,dennis chas.miles andy could not have done more.But with more games to come,we hope that we can help you in the future with more notice i know we will be the best option for you to get to this years matches in europe, or on our coaches from hornchurch, you get a great day out with us win or lose.give us a go.

Loads of people have booked flights via Italy so if that's the case loads will be affected. A few more travelling is not going to make a difference in the big scheme of things.

As long as we are talking a group together i can get a comfortable 25 seater to get you there and back.
